Gabriel Bienczycki is an LA based cinematographer, photographer and director. Born to an artistic family in Poland, Gabriel studied music, fine arts and modern dance and went on to have a successful carer as a dancer and choreographer in leading companies across Europe, Canada and the the US, most notably as a soloist at Ballet Nürnberg, Germany. As artistic director of 7Dance Company in Philadelphia, he sought an adequate translation of stage movement to film and still photography and produced half of the company’s work for stage and half for screen. This influence and commitment to organic movement, precise stage blocking and understanding of human form are still strongly present in his work. 

Current projects include feature narrative and documentary film, commercial campaigns, music video and humanitarian assignments. 

Gabriel’s directorial feature film debut co-directed with Richard Karpala Falling Stars has premiered at the Locarno International Film Festival in 2022. Recent work includes a Tribeca selection feature Freedia Got a Gun (Dir. Chris McKim), Emmy winning feature Out of Iraq (Dir. Chris McKim) Feature length gangster comedy Mayday (Dir. Sam Akina) and Tribeca and Berlinale official selection All On a Mardi Gras Day (Dir. Michal Pietrzyk) as well as a festival decorated feature Finding Kim (Dir. Aaron Bear) and a narrative short Nowhere Band (Dir. Gabriel Bienczycki). as well as an IDF nominated Red Lake (Dir. Billy Luther).

TV work includes MTV's Rebel Music (prod. Ben Herson and Nusrat Durrani).

Commercial clients include: Nike, Dell, Microsoft, XBox, The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Path, Nordstrom, Starbucks, LA Times, MTV, Komatsu and Amazon.


Gabriel is also a co-creator of True Naked Yoga franchise.
